Indications
CEFTRIAXONE is indicated for the treatment of the following infectious diseases:
- Acute otitis media.
- Infectious and inflammatory diseases of the lower respiratory tract, including pneumonia.
- Uncomplicated infections of the urinary tract, including pyelonephritis.
- Sexually transmitted infections: gonorrhea and syphilis.
- Abdominal infections (infections of the abdominal organs).
- Complicated infectious and inflammatory diseases of the skin and soft tissues.
- Infectious and inflammatory diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
- Infectious and inflammatory diseases of the nervous system, including bacterial meningitis.
- Preoperative prophylaxis during surgical procedures.
- Fever in neutropenic patients with suspected bacterial infection.
- Lyme disease (borreliosis).
- Prevention of postoperative infections.
- Infectious diseases in immunocompromised patients.
